We all know about the love drug and seeing as it's been less than 24 hours since Valentine's Day, perhaps some are still a little high from the release of oxytocin in the brain. (Oxytocin being that magical cuddle hormone of satisfactory giddiness bestowed upon sweethearts when bonded.)
Recently, a woman approached me and asked if I was an artist and whether I had ever given art lessons. I replied yes, I had done a lot of drawing and painting at one time and taught at numerous local classes and workshops.
Recently, I saw a cartoon depicting a doctor giving advice to his patient about heart disease and exercise. The doctor's comment was, "It's not that heart disease runs in your family, it's that nobody in your family runs."
Dear Dr. Kaplan: Elly is my 12-year-old cat that has developed a dental abscess. Her veterinarian wants to do a full dental procedure under general anesthetic including mouth dental radiographs, thorough teeth clean and polish, and extraction of the abscessed tooth.
One of my dearest friends is a fitness aficionado and our visits often include a shared love of physical activity. We hit the gym, run, or hike, and then feel entitled to indulge in our other favourite fetish: food.
