What’s your favourite restaurant? Dog groomer? Wedding photographer? Gym? Winery? Clothing store? Hardware store? Grocery store? Florist?

You can give your answer to these questions, and many more, by voting in The Daily Courier’s Reader’s Choice Awards.

Over the past six weeks, you’ve seen the full-page ads in the paper for the awards, but are may be wondering what it’s all about.

“It’s simple,” said The Daily Courier’s director of advertising Catherine Kennedy.

“We want the valued opinions of our readers. Basically, we just want to know which businesses you like and do business with and what businesses you would recommend to family, friends, neighbours and co-workers.”

There are 12 categories, each with lists of businesses you can vote for.

All you have to do is go to ReadersChoice.KelownaDaily-Courier.ca and register with your postal code to indicate you live in the Central Okanagan.

Then you can vote once a day in each sub-category by simply clicking the ‘vote’ button beside every business you favour.

Or you can fill out one of the paper ballots, which appear every Wednesday in The Daily Courier.

The categories are: automotive; electronics; food and dining; health and beauty; pets; home and garden; real estate; personal services; senior care; retail; sports and fitness; and wineries.

Voting started Aug. 1 and continues to Sept. 30.

Winners will be announced in October and the website will remain live as a resource for all to see the nominees and winners.

In November, a glossy resource of nominees and winners will also be distributed.
