Proposed Westbank office complex

A two-storey office building is proposed for the southeast corner of Highway 97 northbound (Dobbin Road) and Old Okanagan Highway in downtown Westbank.

Second-floor offices will have a view of Okanagan Lake under building plans proposed for a new medical clinic and offices in downtown Westbank.

A 14,000-square-foot, two-storey complex is planned for the southeast corner of Highway 97 northbound (Dobbin Road) and Old Okanagan Highway.

“It’s a modern-style building that we think will help set a better atmosphere for downtown Westbank,” developer Daniel Mandelbaum says.

The project would be built where four older homes, since demolished, had stood in disrepair before Mandelbaum’s company bought them last year.

“Those old homes gave a very bad impression to that part of Westbank,” Mandelbaum said.

The proposed complex, to be advanced to a public hearing in a few months, would have a medical clinic and pharmacy on the ground floor and four or five offices on the second floor. Top-floor premises will have a view past the Johnson-Bentley swimming pool toward Okanagan Lake, Mandelbaum said.

If approved by West Kelowna council, the development would be one of the most significant new developments in downtown Westbank in several years.
