VANCOUVER, British Columbia (AP) _ Telus Corp. (TU) on Friday reported second-quarter earnings of $196.2 million.
The Vancouver, British Columbia-based company said it had profit of 17 cents per share. Earnings, adjusted for non-recurring costs, were 18 cents per share.
The results did not meet Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of six analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 21 cents per share.
The telecommunications company posted revenue of $2.69 billion in the period, which beat Street forecasts. Four analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $2.65 billion.
Telus shares have declined 10% since the beginning of the year. The stock has decreased 3.5% in the last 12 months.
