The Coquihalla highway between Hope and Merritt was closed late Tuesday for avalanche hazards and
assessment. More avalanche control is scheduled for the Coq this morning. The Coquihalla summit was forecast to receive up to 40 centimetres of snow by this morning. The highway is scheduled to reopen sometime between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. today, according to DriveBC.
The Trans Canada was cut off between Hope and Lytton due to vehicle crashes on Tuesday. Highway 3 was closed for a few hours near Kootenay pass.
