Held by owner Laura-Lee Jordan, Oscar the daschund is blessed by Rev. Roger Cooper on Sunday at a special service for animals at St. George's Anglican Church in West Kelowna.
The dog has a few behavioural issues, which is one reason why she was brought to a special Blessing of the Animals church service on Sunday by her owner Laura-Lee Jordan.
"I figure, with Chelsey's anxiety, I need all the help I can get," Jordan said with a laugh inside St. George's Anglican Church in Westbank.

"We firmly believe that (pets) have not ceased to exist, but are held in God's sacred embrace," he said. "May they sleep on in eternal rest as all Creation waits for the day of liberation."
The service is held in the name of St. Francis of Assisi, regarded as the patron saint of animals.
Donations were made to the Okanagan Small Dog Rescue society, which was represented by Jordan.
Each year, she said, the non-profit group rescues about 100 dogs, many from puppy mills, and matches them with new
