The owner of this unidentified dog has still not been located as of the weekend. The dog was found injured last week, and is being cared for at the regional dog pound.
Regional district staff say they've had calls from people and emails with third-hand suggestions on the dog's identity, but have not been able to confirm an owner.
The dog received emergency treatment, has been stabilized and a vet says while it's not in critical condition, it requires surgery.
Many people have offered to adopt the dog and/or to pay for the surgery.
The dog may have been visiting from the coast, as the vet said it had fleas, which are rare in the drier Okanagan climate.
After 72 hours, the regional district will
assume ownership of the dog and may begin seeking adoption.
