I have been hearing the wails and gnashing of teeth over the expansion of dog parks, and now there are owners who want to bring them on school property.
I coach sports teams and have had first-hand experience picking up dog waste on playing fields before the kids practice.
There are many dog owners who are responsible and pick up after their pets.
There also seems to be just as many who will look the other way, either inadvertently or directly, while their pet defecates.
I've even seen people pick up after their dogs, and leave the purple bags, brought along specifically for this, by the roadside, purportedly to pick them up later.
Some of theses have been sitting for weeks along the side of the road.
It's only poor judgment that allows very large dogs, sometimes two, to live in small units with no room to run free in the neighbourhood.
There are parks for dogs to run free - all you need do is take a walk through them and see how well responsible pet owners keep their designated area clean.
Make sure you wear your boots.
