The B.C. Liberals would rather kill the messenger than admit their financial and ethical improprieties.
That's why they wanted to oust John Doyle from his job as auditor general. He was deemed dangerous to their election plans because he is too conscientious.
Premier Christy Clark only intervened with an offer of a two-year extension after an avalanche of bad press.
The raison d'être of the B.C. Liberals is clinging to power. They are deathly afraid of having to account for their government's record. That's the real reason Clark did not want her government to sit in the legislature last fall.
When Clark heard Doyle was leaving B.C. to take a job in Australia, I bet she pinched herself to make sure she wasn't dreaming.
