Letter writers Lois Flavelle, Jean Mitchel and others who have suggested Geoff Mantler is somehow the victim are out to lunch.
They say Buddy Tavares manipulated the media. How did he get Kelly Hayes to be there at the exact time he got booted in the head? It was clever of him to pretend to put his hands behind his back, face down, for the camera.
Who caused the problem in the first place? Let me see, a guy gets pulled over, asked to get out of the vehicle and get on the ground, hands behind back. He totally complies. Whack!
No brainer. That doesn't happen even if he had robbed a store at gunpoint.
As far as the danger to the public at a busy intersection, that's where Mantler pulled the guy over.
Just a few days ago, a Kelowna man was caught with nine guns, some of them loaded and in his vehicle. A real threat. I'd hate to see his head.
Only a few cops are rogues like this one. Thankfully, most people know this and we deal with the bad ones.
Not you, though.
By the way, ladies, even Mantler doesn't agree with you. He pleaded guilty.
