Rutland a good name

I take exception to Ron Seymour's dismissal of John Rutland's surname as a suitable name for our area of Kelowna, referring to it as "rather unfortunate."
It is this kind of ignorance that perpetuates the idea that Rutland is an undesirable area. I suggest that Rutland is as noble a name as any other, whether belonging to an "Aussie wanderer" or not, and John Rutland's statue would be entirely welcome in our community.
