David Bruce's letter of Nov. 27 (School board needs to relax rules), reveals a lack of manners and a disdain for democracy in many of society's governing bodies.
This time, the offending body is the Central Okanagan school board and its trustees. They, above all, ought to set an example for settling differences.
If shutting the door on a civil request from a parent is an example of their openness, perhaps they should consider a course in civil behaviour for themselves.
How many parents have been ignored like this, simply for asking a question? A willingness to discuss various issues ought to be a board's responsibility. As it stands, the board has behaved no better than a bully or dictator.
The next time they receive a complaint about bullying in their schools, the board and its trustees will need to look at themselves first to find a resolution.
