With all the turmoil going on in the world at the moment, it is unbelievable that people are spending so much time on the subject of dogs. C.W. Holford must be in the enviable position of being retired with a lot of time on his hands.
I read all his letters and although some of them do make me shake my head, many are very much to the point (especially regarding a large percentage of the youth of today and their expectations of what the world apparently owes them).
Having said that, it comes over as small-minded and mean to so viciously attack dogs and their owners, joining so many equally unpleasantly whining and complaining members of the anti-dog populace.
None of these people has paused for a moment in time to consider the thousands of human beings in the world today who would have no quality of life whatsoever were it not for the gift of being granted a service dog.
Perhaps it is a pity that the writers of some of those letters are not blind, as if they were, they would be willing to give anything in the world to be able to see not only the dog, who is their guide and protector, but also the so-called doo-doo that he leaves to be picked up or scattered by Nature.
Surely, there are far more important matters to pay attention to.
