Spirit of giving: one food bank helping another

Print PDF
We would appreciate it if you could print this letter from the Calgary Food Bank thanking us for our donation from our local farmers.
Calgary sends us nutritious product when we're low - we fill their truck back up with surplus product grown in the Okanagan.
This is about regional food security and getting food to where it's needed that otherwise might go to waste.
Vonnie Lavers,
Kelowna Community Food Bank

On behalf of the clients, volunteers and staff of the Calgary Inter-Faith Food Bank Society, please accept our sincere thanks and appreciation for your donation of 9,840 pounds of produce.
For thousands of people in Calgary, putting food on the table is a struggle.
Last year, 146,947 Calgarians came to the food bank to receive emergency food hampers; 42 per cent were children.
Thank you for caring. Your support means we can provide nutritious food to those who need it.
Thanks to your support, children in our city will have the opportunity to go to school, play and learn because they have eaten a proper breakfast. Their parents can go to work with energy and hope, and without the stress of wondering what they will put on the table at dinner time.
All around our city, there are individuals and families who will have a better, healthier and more fulfilling day, thanks to your donation.
On behalf of everyone at the food bank, especially our clients, thank you!
Julie Brewster,
Calgary Inter-Faith Food Bank Society
