What has happened to our global society when these devastating mass killings happen - 77 killed in Norway - mostly young people and now 20 young children in the U.S.
Is it video games where the purpose is to kill as many villains as you can to win? Does this make some people desensitized to killing, and if there is a mental problem, does it put them over the edge?
Is it the slack gun control where anyone can walk off the street and buy these high-powered guns? Why are these even for sale? Shouldn't they be restricted to the military?
I don't have the answers, but my heart goes out to the parents and families of those innocent little children and the teachers who died.
May we all reach out and hug and cherish each other and hope for a better world in 2013.
Alva Leibel,
Vernon
