Disinfectant wipes don’t go down the toilet.

With the COVID-19 pandemic upon us, use of the disposable wipes has increased and the City of Kelowna is noticing more of them going into the sewer system.

“It is extremely important to remember that any type of disposable wipe, including baby wipes and wipes that are labelled as flushable, must go into the garbage and not be flushed into the sewer system,” said Ed Hoppe, the city’s water quality and customer care supervisor, in a news release.
