Visually impaired anglers take to the waters of Okanagan Lake Saturday in a quest to land a big one.
The Kelowna Yacht Club Blind Fishing Derby sees volunteers from the club take visually impaired people out for a day of fun on the water.
It’s a friendly competition, but there is a trophy to be won by the angler who catches the longest fish.
The large trophy, which is displayed at the yacht club, is inscribed with braille and is updated each year with a winner’s plaque.
The winner also gets a keeper trophy to take home.
If participants aren’t interested in fishing, they can use their day to simply enjoy being out on a boat in the fresh air and sunshine.
