The Kelowna band Fields of Green has spent this winter recording its new five-song EP with the legendary GGGarth (Rage Against The Machine, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Biffy Clyro, Hedley) and Paul Boechler, who is producing and engineering what will be the band's second release.
To celebrate the event, the band is hosting an official EP release party at the Kelowna Community Theatre on Feb. 21 at 8 p.m.
After that, Fields of Green will focus on a spring tour with the Juno winning Arkells.
Advance tickets can be purchased in person at Milkcrate Records (1551 Ellis St.) or online at KeyNoteTickets.com for $15.
The band consists of Kyle Tubbs (lead vocals/guitar), Kevin Dreger (keys/bass/vocals), Connor Tkach (guitar/bass/vocals), and Johnny Jansen (drums/vocals).
The first album, Blanktown won Rock Recording of The Year from the B.C. Interior Music Awards of 2011.
The group also found great success in the 2012 Vancouver FOX Seeds contest, finishing first place out of more than 400 applicants. They were also involved in The Peak Performance Project in 2011 and 2012, making the Top 20 in that event.
