The Okanagan is well represented on the Parole Board of Canada, Pacific region.
Three of the four board members from B.C. who were reappointed this week are from the Valley.
Linda Cross of Coldstream has been on the board since February 2009.
She has a background of working in dispute resolution with the Residential Tenancy Branch, as an adjudicator for the Student Appeals Branch, as a professor at Okanagan College and as a member of the Vernon Health Services Bioethics Committee.
Sam Reimer of Kelowna also was first appointed in February 2009.
He is a certified counsellor and has worked at treatment centres such as Crossroads and the Salvation Army Family Services.
Reimer is a director with Restoration Counselling Services and vice-president of the Association of Clinical Counsellors.
Alex Dantzer of Coldstream also has been on the board since February 2009.
He is a lawyer who specializes in administrative law and has worked for the federal government as vice-consul in Lebanon, Jordan, Syria and New York City.
The other reappointment was Ian Mackenzie of Abbotsford, a retired Abbotsford and Vancouver police officer and criminal law instructor at the University of the Fraser Valley.
The Parole Board of Canada works with the criminal justice system on the reintegration of offenders as law-abiding citizens through conditional release and clemency recommendations.
