Big White will open for downhill skiing on Thursday.
Ticket prices will be reduced by 50 per cent as just a few lifts and runs open.
More runs are expected to open Saturday when lift-ticket prices will move up to full price.
Scheduled to open on Thursday will be the Ridge Rocket high-speed quad chair, the Plaza quad chair and Lara's (eight-passenger) Gondola, beginning at 8:45 a.m.
Runs expected to open are Easy Out, Highway 33, Easy Street, Hummingbird and Lower Perfections.
The Black Forest and Bullet chair lifts are expected to open Saturday.
