"No sense lining up early on Boxing Day when I can just stroll into the store in the afternoon on Dec. 29 and get the same deals," he said.
"Boxing Week is great. In fact, it makes no sense anymore because there's Boxing Day pricing before Christmas, too."
Jensen was shopping at Andre's Electronics Experts in West Kelowna on Saturday afternoon for a Pioneer Elite 3-D Blu-ray player so he can watch discs on his 55-inch flat-screen TV.
When we parted ways, he was still debating whether the $319 price tag (down from $399) was enough to persuade him to buy.
Salesman Peter Vinje was convincing.
"This is a super-high-end Blu-ray player," he explained.
"The price can't come down any more for a premium brand with all those features."
Vinje said Boxing Day still has cachet because it's, well, Boxing Day and there are limited quantity items at rock-bottom prices.
"But we have some Boxing Day pricing pre-Christmas and Boxing Week, too."
As such, he pointed out the 60-inch LG big-screen TV that's going for $898, down from $1,300.
The hot item now is Smart TV, where you can watch TV, PVR and discs, and also hook up your computer and do everything on your TV that you can on your computer.
The 55-inch Samsung ES7500 Smart TV is now sale priced at $1,588, down from its regular price of $2,499.
Andre's also has stores in Penticton, Vernon and Kelowna.
Meantime, in downtown Kelowna, there was no lineup outside like there was on Boxing Day, but the Lululemon store was packed with Boxing Week shoppers.
Lululemon is the luxury yoga and casual wear brand that rarely goes on sale, so when it does, people flock.
"Oh ya, I was here Boxing Day bright and early. I like the hype and I like saving money," said shopper Tayana Klassen.
"But I'm back today because the deals are still on and I just love Lululemon clothes."
She was left still patrolling the racks, but had already picked out bright blue yoga pants ($79, discounted from $98) and a funky orange jacket ($79 from $120.)
Boxing Week will end soon, but the deals will likely keep on going at most stores as January clearances get underway.
