Chef dies at culinary competition

Families in France and Alberta are mourning a young father who died at the chefs championship in Kelowna over the weekend.
Fabien Driquert, 23, died suddenly Sunday at the Eldorado Hotel, where the Canadian Culinary Championships were held. The Coroner's Office is investigating.
Driquert was on a team of three men competing on behalf of the Crazyweed Kitchen in Canmore, Alta. Police have ruled out foul play.
The young man went to college in northwestern France. He leaves his parents and two siblings in France, as well as his partner Veronique Pronovost and daughter Mercedez, according to a memorial notice.
