A Vernon man lost his property and must serve a nine-month jail term for growing more than 1,000 pot plants in his house.
Robert Barclay Yule, 59, pleaded guilty to possession for the purpose of trafficking and weapons offences after police busted his home at 9257 Winchester Rd. off Westside Road in July. Part of his sentence this month was forfeiting his home to the Crown as proceeds of crime.
Police found 1,005 marijuana plants in varying stages of growth in the house. Officers seized 600 grams of bud laid out to dry, a digital weigh scale, high-powered lights, shrouds and fans.
Yule protected himself against drug rips. He barricaded the exterior doors, built a security gate outside and kept unsecured firearms on the property.
He's barred from possessing weapons for life.
