Baljinder Chahal holds the Okanagan's first New Year's baby. His wife, Gursimart, left, gave birth to a seven-pound one-ounce girl at 2:57 p.m. Jan. 1 at Penticton Regional Hospital. With them is their five-year-old son, Arshdeep. The Chahals have yet to name their daughter.
