It was a bad case of déjà vu for the Kelowna Chiefs. Either that, or a good case for the Summerland Steam.
For a second straight night, the underdog Steam defeated the top-ranked Chiefs 4-2 in first-round playoff action at Rutland Arena. Saturday's rematch saw the Chiefs rally from a 2-0 first-period deficit to draw even through 40 minutes, but the Steam prevailed on two third-period goals, including an empty-netter.
Summerland now returns home with a 2-0 lead in the best-of-seven series as it hosts Kelowna for Games 3 and 4 on Monday and Tuesday, both 7:30 p.m. starts.
