The Kelowna and Vernon courthouses are getting new sheriffs.
The 24 most recent graduates of the sheriff academy at the Justice Institute of B.C. in New Westminister are being
assigned to courthouses around the province, including Vernon and Kelowna, according to the Attorney General’s ministry.
Sheriffs are responsible for carrying out orders of the court and for courthouse security.
The next class of sheriff recruits are set to graduate on Oct. 4.
