Work is underway to replace two public docks along the Okanagan Centre shoreline that were damaged by flooding in 2017.
With disaster relief funding from the province confirmed, the rebuilding of the dock just north of the swim bay at Pebble Beach and the dock south of Okanagan Centre Safe Harbour Regional Park can proceed, the municipality of Lake Country said in a news release.
As part of the funding requirements, the docks must be replaced in the general vicinity.
Lake Country is continuing to work with the Ministry of Forests, Lands, Natural Resource Operations and Rural Development to obtain environmental approvals for the Waterside Park public dock replacement in the Lakestone neighbourhood.
A dock north of Camp Road will be removed. Lake Country was notified by the province it must bring the dock into compliance with provincial rules or remove it.
