A hiker who fell 60 feet down a rock face on Dilworth Mountain Tuesday afternoon suffered significant "lower-body injuries," according to rescuers with the Kelowna Fire Department.

The victim was able to call 911 and alerted emergency crews to look for a bicycle in the area.

The fire department's rescue crew and Search and Rescue were called to extract the patient, who was described as being in shock.

The patient was taken to hospital.
