Regimental Sgt. Maj. Chief Warrant Officer David Jones passes the pace stick to incoming RSM Chief Warrant Officer David Moon in a second transfer of authority Saturday.

Lt.-Col. Mike McGinty, commanding officer of the British Columbia Dragoons, turned over command of the regiment to Lt.-Col. Kevin Mead Saturday afternoon on Sicily Parade Square at Vernon Military Camp.

McGinty, of Kelowna, served as commanding officer of the regiment for 3 1/5 years and is currently the lead liaison for domestic operations in B.C. as the territorial battalion group commanding officer for 39 Canadian Brigade Group.

Mead joined the B.C. Dragoons as regimental operations major in May 2015 and has since served as the G5 collective training for 39 Brigade Group headquarters as exercise planner and regimental second-in-command.

The change-of-command parade was presided over by Col. Paul Ursich, commanding officer of 39 Brigade Group.
