Western goat’s-beard

Western goat’s-beard is one of the noxious weeds in the Okanagan.

If you’re annoyed by dandelions, wait until you see the western goat’s-beard.

It’s described as looking like a tall dandelion but with a larger round seed ball, and it’s one of the noxious weeds the Regional District of Central Okanagan is urging people in the area to watch for.

Other invasive threats are wild mustard, knapweeds, puncturevine, purple loosestrife and Scotch thistle, the regional district says in a news release.

People are urged to check regionaldistrict.com/weeds and bcinvasives.ca to find out what the bad plants are and how to combat them.
