Five families were evacuated from a housing complex on Quail Court early Monday morning after a suspicious fire broke out in one of the complexes.
West Kelowna Fire Rescue said in a news release firefighters found the unit fully engulfed when they arrived after 1 a.m.
No one was injured. Damage was contained to the one unit, but families in the other units were evacuated as a precaution. They stayed with friends or relatives overnight, or were in the care of Emergency Social Services.
Investigators returned to the scene Monday morning and were unable to determine the cause of the fire.
The adjoining units have been approved for occupation. Families will work with the property owner and insurance companies to co-ordinate their returns, the fire department said.
