A Dilworth Mountain farm will be revitalized with a nursery and garden centre under plans now filed with the City of Kelowna.
Optimize Organics and Falcon Ridge Farm will partner for the renewal project for the property at 575-579 Rifle Rd.
Plans call for a shop to be repurposed as a tropical and house plant nursery, the creation of a 70-square-metre garden centre, a new 9,000 square foot greenhouse, some agricultural research, and transformation of an existing cherry orchard to organic cultivation.
Municipal planners are now considering the request for the necessary development permit.
Grant and Marlys Wolfe, owners of Falcon Ridge Farms, describe the operation on their website as an “eclectic farm (that) specializes in growing echinacea angustifolia, garlic, small fruits, and vegetables, and producing value-added products from those crops.”
