About 141 residences in Southeast Kelowna were without water for a good chunk of Thursday after a water main break.
The accident happened during construction on Jean Road.
The outage affected addresses on Delphern Court, Jean Road, Mahonia Drive South, Seddon Road and McClain Road, including the McCullouch Road Trailer Park. It was expected to last for several hours. After repairs were completed and water service returned, a boil water notice was to be issued.
Much of East Kelowna is being dug up to install new water pipes that will connect the area to the city’s water system in an $86-million project. Many residences will get their city water next year.
