Hundreds of motorcyclists are rumbling down Highway 97 in the Okanagan today as part of annual fundraiser for prostate cancer research.
The annual Telus Okanagan Ride for Dad started in north Kelowna at 10 a.m., with RCMP blocking side streets along the highway to allow safe passage for participants.
The police escort was to end in West Kelowna, but the ride continues through the South Okanagan. Drivers are encouraged to watch out for the event.
This is the 10th year for the Okanagan ride. Since the first Ride for Dad was held in 2000, a total of $33 million has been raised for research and treatment into prostate cancer.
