Water rates for rural residents of the Central Okanagan are going up.
Regional district directors are expected Thursday to approve the new water-related fees and charges paid by 1,600 property owners.
The largest system has almost 300 users and the smallest only eight customers.
“Notwithstanding the size of the system or the number of households served, all are required to meet the same drinking water guidelines and standards,” reads part of a staff report to board directors.
Water charges vary significantly based on the location, size and infrastructure of each system.
