Two Okanagan residents will join the board of directors for Okanagan College for one-year terms.
Karley Scott and Dale Safinuk were appointed to replace departing board members Charity Gerbrandt and David Porteous.
Scott is best known publicly as the federal Liberal candidate who almost knocked off Conservative Dan Albas in 2015 in Central Okanagan-Similkameen-Nicola.
She runs Karley Scott Consulting, where she drafts law, policy and strategic plans for Indigenous communities and works as an arbitrator and reconciliation coach and carries out Indigenous awareness training.
Scott also works with the Parole Board of Canada.
Safinuk is a financial services executive, most recently as district vice-president of TD Bank Financial Group. He has worked with many community organizations, mostly in the Kamloops area.
Reappointed to the board were Bob McGowan, Tina Lee, Juliette Cunningham and Shelley Cook. Chris Derickson is the chair and Gloria Morgan the vice-chair.
