A grass fire Thursday afternoon on Kelowna’s Mission Creek Greenway started in more than one place.

The fire department said in a news release it received numerous 911 calls reporting a grass fire on the Greenway between Meyer Road and KLO Road around 3 p.m.

Firefighters arriving on the scene found a blaze approximately 4.6 metres wide by 198 metres long.

“Multiple fire sets” were found by department and RCMP fire investigators.

The fire was quickly extinguished, said the department, which responded with three engines, one command vehicle, two bush trucks and 15 personnel.

Part of the Greenway was shut down while crews worked to extinguish the fire.
