Suspect wanted

Police are looking for this suspect in an armed robbery last year at the Garden of Eden on Lawrence Avenue.

Police have made an arrest in a year-old armed robbery at a Kelowna escort agency.

Brandon David Tchir, 33, was arrested Wednesday on Hein Road in Rutland. He has been charged with robbery, assault with a weapon, disguising his face with intent to commit an indictable offence and use of an imitation firearm while committing an indictable offence.

Last June, the Garden of Eden in the 300 block of Lawrence Avenue was held up by gun-toting thieves during an afternoon robbery. An undisclosed amount of cash was taken.

“Remarkably, no one was reportedly injured at the scene,” said Cpl. Jesse O’Donaghey at the time.

The suspects reportedly fled eastbound on Lawrence Avenue.

A few days later, a suspect vehicle was located.

A second suspect is still being sought. Seen in a surveillance photo, the suspect is described as standing more than six feet tall. He wore a black mask, black hat, black jacket, grey T-shirt and grey pants.

There may be another accomplice, police say.

Anyone with information is asked to call Const. Steve McBride of the Kelowna RCMP General Investigation Section at 250-762-3300.
