Information and resources for seniors will be available at the 15th annual Seniors Safety Fair on Wednesday in Kelowna.
The free event takes place from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Trinity Baptist Church on Springfield Road.
Featured speaker Hope Kelly from Home Instead Senior Care will talk about scams that target seniors.
“We get several calls a week from frightened clients who think they are going to jail because of their taxes,” said Kristin Stratulat, program manager for the Seniors Outreach and Resource Centre, which is presenting the fair. “This type of information can help empower our clients to know how to identify scammers and how to react.”
There will be information booths for seniors and their families, hearing screenings, health checks, refreshments and door prizes.
