Okanagan Lake was warmer than the air on Sunday.

The water temperature has tumbled since last week, from a summer high of 24 C to 21 C. But that was still warmer than the 19 C air temperature recorded Sunday afternoon in Kelowna.

After a cool and showery weekend, weather conditions have improved this week in Kelowna.

Highs under sunny skies should reach the seasonal average of 28 C, before turning a couple degrees cooler on the weekend.

The water temperature, however, has likely begun its slow decline as Okanagan Lake typically reaches its warmest level in early August.
