Santa Claus is trading in his reindeer-led sleigh for a helicopter, but just for today and tomorrow.

The Big Guy will arrive in style from the North Pole by Okanagan Mountain Helicopter today and Sunday at Ex Nihilo Winery in Lake Country at 11 a.m.

After landing in a frozen vineyard, the Jolly Olde Elf then makes is way into the winery where he’ll pose for photos with you and-or your kids for a donation to the Lake Country Food Bank.

Santa will stay each day until 4 p.m.

Seven other wineries on Lake Country’s Scenic Sip Trail also have events today and Sunday.

Ancient Hill will have mulled wine and local crafters on hand.

Arrowleaf will be home to a pop-up holiday market.

At Blind Tiger there will be hot chocolate and Christmas carols around the bonfire.

50th Parallel has designed a winter wine-derland.

Gray Monk is pairing its 2017 Pinot Auxerrois with salmon on crisps.

Intrigue is putting on the mulled wine and spicy chai molasses cookies matched to Gewurztraminer.

And O’Rourke’s Peak Cellars will have a Mrs. Claus workshop, bonfire, hot chocolate and holiday music.

All wineries are accepting donations to the Lake Country Food Bank and all tasting fees at the wineries will also be donated to the food bank.

Last year, the wineries on the Scenic Sip Trail raised $4,350 for the food bank.
