Dear editor:

I recently attended the annual Mission Painters art show at the seniors’ centre at Sarson’s Beach, an event that I have enjoyed several times in the past few years.

Each time I visit this facility, I am impressed with both the welcoming members of the group and with the beauty of the area.

The centre is a charming old building and a beautiful location for a seniors’ activity centre and, as such, should be valued and preserved.

I sincerely hope that our city staff and city council will reconsider their plans to relocate this centre to the H2O site.

The present structure, in its idyllic location, is truly a “gem” amongst the current recreation and activity centres in our city. Let’s not lose it.
