In regards to all members of the Kelowna city council being allowed to attend the FCM convention in Quebec City with all expenses paid by the taxpayers (Courier, June 28).
Wouldn’t it be grand if we, the taxpayers, could have an all-expense paid trip, or holiday, or whatever you want to call it. Yes, this may be an information convention, but what is the problem of just sending one or two members and have them report to the next meeting upon their return? Let them give a report on the things they felt were important to the area.
With all the technology we have nowadays, this should not be that difficult. Maybe Barry Beardsell from Vernon was right when he said for some it is just a very nice paid trip.
And how many will show up at all the meetings to hear all the information that is so important to hear about?
