Kelowna Rockets forward Pavel Novak has been added to NHL Central Scouting's Players to Watch List ahead of next year's draft.

Central Scouting has labelled him a C-rated prospect, meaning Novak could be a potential fourth-, fifth- or sixth-round selection at the 2020 NHL entry draft in Montreal.

The players to watch list is comprised of Central Scouting's top prospects from all the major development leagues in North America and Europe. The list is updated throughout the season as scouts get a longer look at potential pros.

The Rockets selected Novak 13th overall during the 2019 CHL Import Draft in June.

The Tabor, Czech Republic, product is tied for first in Rockets' scoring and leads all WHL rookies in points with three goals and five assists in seven games.

Novak and the Rockets are back in action twice this week, first in Seattle on Friday before returning home Saturday to host the Kamloops Blazers.

Kelowna is coming off mixed results from Prince George on the weekend.

Novak scored twice as the Rockets edged the Cougars 2-1 on Friday night. Roman Basran made 28 saves.

The Cougars regrouped on Saturday to win their first of the season, 4-1.

P.G. scored twice into the empty net to salt away the victory. Nolan Foote scored Kelowna's only goal while Basran was again sharp, making another 28 saves.

Splitting on the road keeps Kelowna atop the B.C. Division standings with a 4-2-1 record, good enough for nine points and a point clear of the Vancouver Giants (4-3-0).
