Ogopogo Swim Club

Teagan Murray broke five team and meet records as the Ogopogo swim club won the Okanagan regional swim meet in Kamloops last weekend.

Murray set a new record in the 200-metre individual medley, and club and meet records in the girls 50 fly and 100 backstroke.

Narae Choi shaved 14 seconds off the Okanagan record in the girls’ six-and-under 25-metre breaststroke.

Swimmers who medalled in all their events include Hana Choi, Hunter Kay, Murray, Julianna Sebulsky, Maddox Stevens and Tage Stevens.

Remy Stevens and Makenna Haight earned gold medals in all their individual events.

All medalists can race at the provincials from Aug. 16-18 in Kamloops.

In the relay events, the girls won double gold in Division 4 (ages 12-13.5) and the boys won double silver in the 200 free and 200 medley relay.

The girls Division 1 team (eight and under) also won gold in the 200 medley relay. The girls’ division 5 and 6 medley-relay teams, and girls’ Division 1 and boys Division 2 free relay teams, all won silver.

Head coach Cameron Feil, as well as senior coaches Randi Thompson, Makenna Haight and Cam McInnes, all raced and all medalled themselves.
