The Kelowna Rockets will begin their Memorial Cup season against the Spokane Chiefs on Friday, Sept. 21, at Prospera Place, which will also be Paint the Rink Pink Night.

The 2019-20 regular-season schedule, which was released Tuesday, is made up of 36 games against B.C. Division rivals, 20 games against the remaining Western Conference teams and 12 games against the Eastern Conference.

Season tickets—which are the only way to get access to Memorial Cup tickets—are now on sale.

Single-game tickets will go on sale at a later date.

Kelowna is set to host the Memorial Cup tournament next May. Kelowna gets an automatic entry into the national championship as host. The Rockets last hosted — and won — in 2004.

Paint the Rink Pink

The Rockets will host the Spokane Chiefs for their home opener and their 10th annual Paint the Rink Pink Night. The team will don pink jerseys that will be auctioned off during the game to raise money for the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation.

Fans are encouraged to wear pink and help the Rockets paint the rink pink.

22 Weekend Games

The Rockets will play at Prospera Place 21 times on Friday, Saturday or Sunday during the 2019-20 regular season, which includes nine Friday contests, 11 Saturday games and one Sunday afternoon matchup against the Vancouver Giants.

The league reduced its schedule to 68 games from 72 prior to last season, saying it needed to reduce travel and give players more time mid-week to practice and attend school.

Hat Trick Wednesday

The Rockets will play nine Wednesday night home games. When you purchase a single game ticket from Select Your Tickets before 2 p.m. on Wednesdays, you’ll receive a hot dog and a pop with your ticket for $19.99.

Candy Scramble

Fans are invited to dress up in costumes for the London Drugs/Hershey Candy Scramble on Saturday, Oct. 12, when the Rockets host the Kamloops Blazers. During one of the intermissions, kids 12 and under will be invited to collect candy scattered on the ice.

Teddy Bear Toss

On Saturday, Dec. 30, the Kelowna Rockets will host their Teddy Bear Toss game against the Prince George Cougars. When the first Rockets goal is scored, fans will toss their bears onto the ice.

The bears will then be donated to Kelowna General Hospital.

Family Day Game

The Rockets will host the Calgary Hitmen on Monday, Feb. 17, for a Family Day game. Puck drop is scheduled for 2:05 p.m.
