Barrie healthy again, optimistic about Avalanche's future

Former Rockets captain recovers from knee injury, tees off at alumni tournament

Tyson Barrie was all smiles on Friday.

That he was able to swing freely and fully enjoy himself during the Kelowna Rockets’ alumni golf tournament was a positive sign for the Colorado Avalanche defenceman. A restricted free agent coming off a breakout season and expected to sign a seven-figure contract at some point this summer, Barrie was equal parts happy and relieved to reveal he’s fully recovered from a knee injury that brought an early end to his — and, consequently, Colorado’s — playoff run this spring.
