Prince George Cougars at Kelowna Rockets

Prince George Cougars forward Craig Armstrong looks for a penalty call beside Kelowna Rockets’ Liam Kindree at Prospera Place in Kelowna on Friday night.

With the Rockets regular season just over two weeks away, Kelowna will head into the penultimate weekend of preseason play today.

The Rockets will face the Everett Silvertips at 3:30 p.m. in Langley as part of the Vancouver Giants preseason tournament at the Langley Events Centre.

They will then head home to host the Prince George Cougars at Prospera Place on Sunday at 5:05 p.m.

With Nolan Foote, Kaedan Korczak, Dillon Hamaliuk, Jake Lee, Sean Comrie, Kyle Topping and Leif Mattson having all departed for NHL camps or tournaments, more young faces will be in the Rockets lineup again this weekend.

Kelowna has already played two preseason games, defeating Victora 4-0 last Friday thanks to a goal and an assist from Kyle Crosbie.

The Rockets then lost to the Kamloops Blazers 5-3 last Sunday.

Import player Pavel Novak made his North American debut with the Rockets against the Blazers, picking up an assist on the Rockets opening goal.

Alex Swetlikoff, Liam Kindree, Cayde Augustine, Crosbie and Jake Poole all have two points thus far.
