Aidan Malish and Adam Sarafinchan combined for a three-hit shutout as the Okanagan Athletics defeated the UBC Thunder 2-0 on Wednesday night in a B.C. Premier Baseball League doubleheader. The A’s lost the opener 5-1.

Malish (1-1) earned the win by pitching four strong innings, allowing two hits. Sarafinchan made the save as the A’s improved to 17-13 on the season.

Carter Morris was the offensive spark, going 2-for-3 from the dish, stealing one base and scoring once.

Unfortunately, Morris took the loss to start the double-dip. He lasted just two innings, allowing six hits and five runs — three of them earned. Mason Glowacki was 1-for-4 with the bat, scoring once. Carter Schaper-Kotter had the lone RBI.

The A’s are back in action this weekend in Kelowna when they host the Victoria Eagles (20-17) in a weekend double-double.
