Former West Kelowna Warriors forward Chase Dubois is headed to Fairbanks, Alaska, to play hockey this season.
Dubois will play NCAA hockey at the University of Alaska Fairbanks. The 21-year-old admits he was a little late in making his college decision.
It really shouldn’t of taken this long for me to make a decision”, said Dubois, 21, in a news release issued by the Warriors. “I wanted to focus on getting a Division 1 spot during the off season and I’m so excited it’s Alaska Fairbanks.”
He'll join former Vernon Vipers Steven and Chris Jandric in Alaska. The brothers grew up playing minor hockey with Dubois in Prince George.
Also in Fairbanks are former Warriors Kyle Marino and Kylar Hope, who are entering their senior years.
“We are thrilled for Chase and his opportunity to play college hockey at the University of Alaska Fairbanks”, said Warriors General Manager and Head Coach Brandon West. “Chase has worked hard over this summer and prepared himself for this opportunity that he’s earned. UAF is getting a quality player and person.”
